I was driving down Heytsbury Street in Dublin 2 towards Kevins Street and I came across the message LIVE & LOVE. It was on a hoarding surrounding a building site that won't be built on for years to come. It was a lovely message to receive on what was a dirty, grey, rainy day. I was so struck by it that I went back there to take these photos. It was then that I saw it was created for the charity http://firstfortnight.ie/ by one of Ireland’s best street artists Maser.
You can see more about Maser on his Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/MASERART First Forthnight help raise awareness and acceptance of mental health issues. Here's therir website: http://firstfortnight.ie/ Challenging Mental Health Prejudice Through Creative Arts Thanks for the inspiration guys.
Thanks to Mary Helen Ferris of Greatpoetrymhf’s Weblog for presenting me with the Masters Award for blogging.
I'm a little overwhelmed in receiving this award. It's the first award I've ever received for my writing or blogging. Thank you Mary Helen for choosing me, you are very kind. Mary discovered my blog after she saw the Reaching for the Light video on Facebook. She told me she sent the video to some friends who had suffered some serious setbacks in life recently. The video helped her express to her friends how she felt.
Other recipients of the award include: pennycoho (www.thewhyaboutthis.com) Not just creativity and our creative natures but also all the different reasons why we do what we do. Barbara Beacham (www.salmonfishingqueen.wordpress.com) who lives in the Sierra Foothills in California in the US and has some lovely posts on the nature around her. Sharla Shult (www.catnipoflife.wordpress.com) She bases her inspirational poetry on her motto: Observe life at its best, listen to life’s songs, embrace life’s bounties, breathe the breath of life and savour life to its fullest!
I'd like to thank all of you who came along to the exhibition, Reaching for the Light, at the Ranelagh Arts Centre during the last week of November. It was lovely to see so many of you. It is nice to meet the readers of this blog and hear your comments and insights. Thank you for your visit and company.
This is the second time I've been a runner up in the competition, the previous time was in 2009. The winner and 11 runner ups appear in the LUAS calendar and we get a gift voucher and a LUAS ticket for a months travel. I was pretty thrilled with it. Thank You LUAS.
An exhibition of inspirational pictures by Ed Parkinson at the Ranelagh Arts Centre
26th November - 2nd December
Opening 26th Nov. at 6.30pm
Here's a short video of the title picture, Reaching for the Light: A
Ed Parkinson explores the spiritual side of our lives in his work. His use of realistic imagery makes it easy to comprehend the concepts he portrays, such as our life’s journey, our inner selves, our dreams and more. Through his visions we can grasp a better understanding of our thoughts as now we can see what we are thinking or discussing.
Using a combination of painting, photographs, 3D art and computer generated images, Ed Parkinson brings visions from his imagination into pictures we can see. It is a view from a different angle which gives an insight we probably hadn’t considered before. For some people the pictures confirm a concept they had trouble visualising.
How we can reach the light On Wednesday 28th Nov. at 7pm, Ed Parkinson will explain with the help of his pictures How we can reach the Light. Ed will give insights into exploring our inner selves along with some techniques for finding insights and enlightenment within ourselves.
Six Simple Secrets to a Stress Free Christmas On Saturday 1st Dec. at 3pm, Ed Parkinson will reveal six simple secrets to a stress free Christmas. Just what we need at this time of year to bring a bit of calmness to the usual Christmas chaos.

What would you like to hear, discover or know from a spiritual artist? I hope to have an art exhibition in the Ranelagh Arts Centre in Dublin at the end of November. I'll be giving a few talks during the week of the exhibition and if you were to come along to them, what would you like to hear? What subjects would you like to find out about? Over on the top right of this blog page is a survey. Please click your answer to give me some idea of what you'd like to hear about at one of my talks, even if you won't be able to attend. It would be great to get your opinion. If there isn't anything on the list that you'd like, click “Comments” below and let me know what your topic is. Thanks for your help with this. Lots of Love *Ed

The Ranelagh Arts Festival kicked off on Saturday last, 15th September 2012, and will run until the 30th September. That's two weeks of art, talks, music, films, theatre, comedy, tours, walks and parties. One of the elements of the festival is the Art in the Windows exhibition where art is displayed in the shop windows of Ranelagh during the Festival. I've got three pictures on display in the windows of Gunne, the estate agents on the Triangle in Ranelagh. The three pictures can be seen in the photo and are, from left to right, Glimpse of God, River of God and Mountain to Heaven. Click on the photo to see a bigger image or if you are in Ranelagh, Dublin 6, Ireland, over the next two weeks have a look at them in the window and watch out for many other artists in other shop windows too. You'll get more info on the festival on their website here.
If you would like to buy a print of some of my pictures you can now do so on my website www.EdP-SpiritualArt.com. Click on the Buy a Print button in the menu on the left. Currently pictures from 2011 and 2010 are available. Prints from earlier years and this year will be added shortly. Don’t forget these are archival photographic prints, they will last for 100’s of years when cared for properly. They are signed and number individually by the artist. To visit the Buy a Print page, please click here.
