I'm still playing around with the composition of this picture Growth in Consciousness. I've brightened the background and the colourful leaves help to lighten and brighten the whole picture.

I'm still playing around with the composition of the picture and where to place the characters or trees in the picture. This layout doesn't work as a picture. It works fine as visual information but I'd like it to be a pleasant layout too.

Growth in Consciousness – sketch 2

While I have the basic concept for Growth of Consciousness in my head, I now have to try and get it out so you can see and understand it. In the process of doing that I'll play with a number of different ways of portraying what I have in mind. With this sketch I'm looking for a way to illustrate the growing consciousness by using the branches of a tree to symbolise its growth. It doesn't work but I'm learning and hopefully will find a way to explain the concept.

Here's a sketch for a new picture titled, Growth of Consciousness. It's an attempt to explain how we develop as we go through our lives and in the process of learning our consciousness grows too.

Growth of Consciousness

Here's a sketch for a new picture titled, Growth of Consciousness. It's an attempt to explain how we develop as we go through our lives and in the process of learning our consciousness grows too.

Realisation

This guy who represents those who have gone on from self realisation to realising what the Divine is, hasn't received much comment up to now. He is one of those Master Souls who have a full awareness of how the physical world and the worlds of time and space operate. They are available to answer the call of any Soul who sincerely wishes to realise who and what they are. They work with the Divine to bring love to the Souls struggling in the confusion caused by time and space.

Realisation

Our hero now has some cloths on. The poor guy has been standing there naked for weeks. He looks a bit happier now. :-)

Realisation

I've added an important detail to the picture, Realisation. Two etched bronze pieces of art. 
This picture was inspired by a story Harold Klemp told about a guy called Mel who had a dream. In the dream he was in a Middle Eastern city and met a bald headed spiritual master called Yabul Sacabi. Yabul gave him two large round etched bronze pieces of art and asked him to deliver them to someone in the city.. In the first was a man with his arms outstretched and detached from this world, which represented self realisation. The second piece showed a man standing quietly ready and willing to do as the Divine wished. This was God realisation.

When Mel arrived at the house he was invited in. On a table was a bronze sculpture of a man chained to confusing and seemingly unconnected events. He was desperate to be free from that which bound him. The man said to Mel “There is more but I don't know how to find the next step.” When Mel gave him the two pieces of art, he was deeply touched. He had found the answers to his question.

Realisation

I hit a stumbling block with this picture, Realisation. I've been trying to get the curtains, which the Soul is bursting through, to look right. I've done numerous studies, tried different techniques but wasn't happy with any of them until now. I'm not sure that they are even that good now but I think the message comes across okay. Hopefully the rest of picture won't have any more stumbling blocks and I'll get it finished soon.

Realisation

I've moved my focus from the curtains in the picture, Realisation, to the two characters in the darkness. I've dressed them to make them descent. They represent that part of us which is still attached to the things of the physical world, like status, awards, gadgets, property, alcohol, drugs, etc., etc. There is some light in our lives but we have to search it out.

I'm currently working on the curtain which our hero is bursting through. It's still pretty rough at the moment but there is progress.

I've done some work on the curtains in this sketch. The seeker has broken through the veil of illusion into a new realisation. He has become aware that there is more to life than what he has been aware of up to now.

In this picture, Realisation, I'm currently working on getting a curtain effect which our hero is bursting through. It symbolises the the veil of illusion which our physical life throws over us to prevent us from realising that we are really a beautiful, loving being, Soul.

Here's a further development of the picture, Realisation. I've use a 3D program to try and work out the viewing angle and the composition of the various elements in the picture. We still have a long way to go yet.

Realisation

This is a sketch for a new picture I’ve just started. The title is Realisation and I'm trying to show three stages of realisation. First when we realise that there is something more that the physical life we seem to be chained to. Then we realise that we are Soul, an individual part of the Divine. After that we realise what the Divine is and we begin working with It as needed.
